Bobby gets real September 20, 2004
R&B singer Bobby Brown is hoping to get his career back on track with a new reality TV show about his family.
Being Bobby Brown, will focus on Brown and his family as the singer seeks to distance himself from his legal troubles and revive his recording career.
Brown, who is married to fellow singer Whitney Houston, left the R&B group New Edition in the late 1980s for a solo career.
His hits include My Prerogative and Every Little Step, but he has also become famous for his numerous brushes with the law and his turbulent marriage to Houston.
An American network has signed to air 10 one-hour episodes of the show in spring 2005.
Brown, Houston, their family and staff have been spotted around Atlanta since early this year, shooting footage for the program.
"Being Bobby Brown will allow the public to see Brown outside the context of a pop icon and bad boy," said Lauren Zalaznick, the president of the Bravo network that will air the show.
"Rather, they'll witness an artist striving to clean up his life for his future and the future of his family."
