The "Chapelle's Show Season One: Uncensored" DVD has now become the biggest-selling TV show on DVD, surpassing "The Simpsons: The Complete First Season" with over two million units sold, according to Videoscan and retail sources. The DVD version of Dave Chappelle's Comedy Central show has also spawned "Chappelle's Show: Season Two Uncensored". Look for Chapelle on tonight's "60 Minutes Wednesday" with Bob Simon.

After being courted by virtually every large music company, rap / hip-hop superstar Kanye West has inked a joint-venture deal with Sony Music's U.S. label group, a part of SonyBMG. Talks with Kanye West began about three months ago, and the relationship between Sony and the rapper-producer began when West brought soul singer and songwriter John Legend to Columbia Records. SonyBMG execs say they are confident Kanye West can develop the next big names in hip-hop and R&B.

A French liqueur distiller that dates back to 1827 has chosen Andre 3000 and Big Boy of Outkast to be the new faces of Societe des Produits Marnier-Lapostolle. Best known as the maker of the cognac-based liqueur Grand Marnier, the distiller is in the process of launching a vanilla-flavored cognac called Navan. The new brand was showcased at Outkast’s MTV music awards after-party in Miami in August.

It seems like every week some throwback artist announces that there coming back to the rap game. It’s starting to get really redundant. But anyway, this weeks throwback artists is…Edo G and he has recently announced his return to hip-hop. The next album titled My Own Worst Enemy will be released November 11th on Fat Beats. Guests spots include Diamond D, Masta Ace and Krumb Snatcha. But get this, the entire CD will be produced by Soul Brotha #1 Pete Rock!

Roxanne Shante filed a lawsuit against Janet Jackson alleging a snippet of her voice was used on “Like You Don’t Love Me” from Janet’s latest album “Damita Jo”. Shante alleges the clip is of her saying “so fresh” and she was never paid for it. After receiving a call from a Janet rep saying they didn’t believe it was her voice, Shante filed the lawsuit. “That really infuriated me. Any true hip-hop head knows it’s me. The sample comes from ‘Def Fresh Crew’ a song that I did with Biz Markie on the Pop Art label. It usually doesn’t go this far, they rectify it. It’s the principle”, said Shante.
